I love taking a peek inside other’s Christians’ homes to see how they are glorifying God with their home decor! Glittery ornaments and cute signs are fun, but I want to see how you’re using your seasonal decorations to point your family and visitors to Christ. THAT’S the good stuff!
Deuteronomy 6:6-9 reminds us that we should be teaching our children diligently, everywhere we go…and especially in our homes. It also instructs us to keep God’s word in front of our eyes and write it on the doorposts of our home. Today I want to show you my attempts to honor God with our Valentine’s Day decor. Yes, you’ll see cute hearts and lots of pink and red…but more than that, I hope those that enter our home will see reminders of God’s love. My hope is to inspire your own fun project ideas for your family. So, let’s go!!
1. VALENTINE’S SEASONAL CHALKBOARD

If you’ve read some of my other posts, you’ve probably seen this same chalkboard pop up over and over again! It’s in a highly visible spot in our kitchen, so of course it had to have a Valentines Day message! I love changing out the message seasonally. Sometimes it showcases a Bible verse or sometimes lyrics from a hymn. My family often comments on whatever I put up there, which I love! If you are looking for super-affordable, hard-working wall art, it doesn’t get any better than a big chalkboard. You can see other seasonal ways I’ve changed out my chalkboard here.
2. VALENTINE’S DECORATIVE TRAY
This decorative tray sits in the middle of my kitchen counter. It features Luke 10:27,” Love the Lord your God with all of your heart, with all of your mind, with all of your soul, and with all of your strength.” I typed that verse up many years ago and stuck it in a simple frame from the dollar store.
The plaid hearts came in a large bag from Hobby Lobby. Those red and white balls are actually Christmas ornaments that I’ve had for many years! I use them in December and again in February ( I love getting my money’s worth!). See that cute ribbon tied around my vase? I fell in love with it, and you’ll see it in multiple places around my house. I love seasonal ribbon because it’s not expensive, but all of the sudden, my regular vase is now a Valentine’s vase. Score! Here’s the link to that pink heart ribbon and that red heart ribbon.
3. VALENTINE’S CENTERPIECE
This centerpiece is on our breakfast nook table. I have a mini pink chalkboard that I grabbed at Hobby Lobby. I reuse it for birthday parties, Easter decor, and more! This year I put Colossians 3:14 on it, “And above all these put on love, which binds everything together…” You’ll also see that I turned my regular candlesticks into Valentine’s candle sticks with a little more of that fun ribbon (pink heart ribbon and red heart ribbon).
4. HEART GARLAND FOR MANTLE
I love this little heart garland that features 1 Corinthians 13, “Love is patient. Love is Kind….” It’s available as a free printable in my Freebies Library! There are 14 little hearts on the garland, so we memorize one chunk of the passage per day beginning February 1st. By February 14th, we have memorized the whole passage! This is probably my very favorite Bible verse decor because now my kids start reciting it as soon as I pull it out of the box. It’s a fun Valentine’s Day tradition that teaches them what true love, God-defined love actually looks like.
5. FOYER DECOR
This little table is in our foyer. I made this simple sign, “Oh How He Loves Us!” to set the Valentine’s tone right when you walk in the front door! It’s available as a free printable in my Freebies Library. You’ll also notice the little felt hearts that are attached to my floral arrangement. I got a huge bag of the little felt hearts off of Amazon, so you’ll see them all over my house (lots of bang for a few bucks!). I hot-glued mini clothespins to the back of the hearts to make them easy to clip on the branches.
6. FRAMED ART DECOR
This cute little framed art is available on Etsy. It features 4 verses that use the letters L, O, V, E as the focal point. If you look behind the framed art, you’ll see more of that cute ribbon on my vase!
7. OTHER DECOR
And here is some other Valentine’s Day decor around the house. You’ll see more of those little felt hearts, more recycled Christmas ornaments, and more of that fun heart ribbon.
VALENTINE’S DAY TRADITIONS
Decorating your home to reflect God’s love is a wonderful way to celebrate Valentine’s Day. But my family also has some fun Valentine’s traditions that I’d love to share with you! Hope over to this post if you want some new ideas!
